Texas Craglily

Echeandia texensis, commonly known as Texas Craglily or Texas Shooting Star, is native to the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, preferring sun to part shade. It is a herbaceous perennial that grows from 1-3' high with a spread of 1/2-1'. It grows great in rock gardens as it is drought tolerant and can tolerate extreme conditions of seasonally wet and seasonally dry soils. It is great for fall color, as it has beautiful yellow star-like flower that grows on branched spikes. It blooms from spring to fall.
