Conoclinium greggii, commonly known as Gregg’s blue mistflower or Texas ageratum, is a charming ground cover that flourishes in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and northern Mexico. This lovely plant typically reaches 12-18 inches and can spread up to 24 inches wide. One of its delightful features is its powder blue flowers, which bloom from summer to fall and resemble ageratum. It’s these misty flowers that inspire the common name! With light green leaves, this beauty not only catches the eye but also attracts cheerful butterflies. It’s also sometimes called Eupatorium greggii.

To thrive, Conoclinium greggii enjoys medium moisture and well-drained loam, flourishing in full sun to part shade. Under ideal conditions, this plant can spread quite robustly through rhizomes. Plus, it’s winter-hardy to USDA Zone 7, making it a wonderful choice for your garden.
